The community mourns the untimely passing of Colby Allen Cruise, 19, whose life ended unexpectedly on June 10, 2025. Colby was cherished by family, friends, and all who knew him for his generous spirit, adventurous heart, and unwavering loyalty.
A native of Pine Ridge, Colby grew up with a love for the outdoors, spending weekends fishing, hiking, and enjoying time by the water with loved ones. He had a deep curiosity for life—whether trying out a new trail, experimenting with skate tricks, or helping neighbors whenever he could.
Though young, Colby was wise beyond his years. He was known among his peers for his easygoing demeanor, infectious laugh, and readiness to support a friend in need. Whether coaching younger kids in youth sports or helping set up community events, he stood out for his kindness and reliability.
At Pine Ridge High School, Colby was on track to follow his passions—considering careers in outdoor education or recreational therapy. He was also planning to pick up carpentry as a trade, driven by a practical mindset and a desire to build and create.
Colby leaves behind his parents, Allen and Melissa Cruise, sisters Ava and Hannah, and a wide circle of relatives and friends. The loss of this bright, generous young man has been felt throughout the community.
Friends and family are invited to attend a public memorial service on Saturday, June 15, at Pine Ridge Community Chapel, starting at 11:00 a.m., to celebrate Colby’s loving and adventurous spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local youth recreation program or outdoor education initiative—honoring Colby’s passion for nature and his desire to encourage others.
Though taken far too soon, Colby Allen Cruise’s warmth, enthusiasm, and caring nature left a lasting mark. He will be remembered not just for his bright smile and adventurous streak, but for the way he made everyone around him feel seen, supported, and valued. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
